Strategy Research Initiative
The Strategy Research Initiative began as an informal gathering of mid-career strategy scholars in the hinterlands of Nova Scotia in 2007. The goal of the gathering was to create an organization of like-minded colleagues dedicated to the creation of institutions designed to advance research in strategy. Since that first gathering, the group has expanded, met annually to discuss our progress, and pushed forward on projects aiming to achieve that original goal.
At its core, the SRI is an action-oriented community -- we seek to build institutions and disseminate resources that help strategy researchers raise the bar of scholarship. Our shared view on what constitutes high quality research in strategy can be found in our jointly-authored So!apbox essay, "The Strategy Research Initiative: Recognizing and Encouraging High-Quality Research in Strategy," recently awarded the 2015 SO!What award for best So!apbox essay published in Strategic Organization 5 years earlier.
In 2011, SRI formally organized itself along the lines of an academic society. Our charter can be found here. A list of our Fellows, Members and governing bodies can be found on the Community page.
